Instructor Training Curriculum Overview

Beginning Requirements

  1. Student must be a Black Belt in a formal Martial Art (around 3-4 years of training)
  2. Student must have completed our internal Martial Arts Curriculum (around 3-4 years of training)
  3. Student must have a college education or the equivalent thereof as determined by Master Croley.

Level 1: CIT Course (Certified Instructor Training)

  1. Student learns how to lead and control a class, class structure, public speaking, and methods of presentation.
  2. The average student will attend this course for 12 months time, though graduation can be faster with Master Croley's approval.

Level 2: Assistant Training Course

  1. Student has completed CIT Course and spends around 12 months learning to apply the information in a mentored, on the floor environment, predominately through observation and direct guidance from the Head or Master Instructor.
  2. Student continues to attend CIT Course in order to see the information applied.
    The average student will attend this course for 12 months time, though graduation can be faster with Master Croley's approval.

Level 3: Assistant Instructor

  1. Student has completed CIT Course twice and has completed Assistant Training Course.
  2. Assistant Instructor applies teaching methods to small portions of the class under the direct supervision of a Head or Master Instructor.
  3. The average person will be at this level for 6 months time, though graduation can be faster with Master Croley's approval.

Level 4: Instructor

  1. Student has completed all training to level 3.
  2. Student must attend annual recertification.
  3. Instructor is capable of running entire class with the direct supervision of the Head or Master Instructor.
  4. The average person will be at this level for 24 months time, though graduation can be faster with Master Croley's approval.

Level 5: Shifu

  1. Student Has completed all training to level 4.
  2. Student must attend annual recertification.
  3. Student must be a 2nd degree Black Belt or higher.
  4. Shifu is capable of running an entire floor without supervision.
  5. Shifu can make decisions regarding the advancement of lower levels.
  6. Must attend off site training as required by Master Instructor.
  7. The average person will be at this level for 10 years time, though graduation can be faster with Master Croley's approval.

Level 6: Master Instructor

  1. Has Completed all training through level 5.
  2. Is at least a 5th degree Black Belt.
  3. Is capable of running all floor operations.
  4. Is capable of designing a curriculum.
  5. Makes all advancement decisions.
  6. Student reaches this level only with Master Croley's approval.
